Botanical Bounty of Beauty June 11

Today we said goodbye to our Berlin abode. It was perfect for our large group.

First order of business was to schlepp our luggage to the boat docked at Spandau. A slight challenge getting the bags up and down the stairs to the subway.

Once dropped off, the search for breakfast began. Denise opted for waffles with ice cream.

 Then Lou, Denise, Mary and I headed to the botanical garden. We spent about an hour in the hothouse alone.

 Very impressive.  They even had a cactus section.

 There was a wonderfully designed koi pond.

 And many unusual plants.

 And allium galore!

 And a bamboo section.

It was a relaxing way to end our time in Berlin.
